When was the last time your breath was stolen away?

When did your heart last seize up with awe or break a little with bittersweet longing for something and somewhere slightly other?

When did you last experience an overwhelming feeling of childlike wonder?

Of course, many would say that’s silly (positively “childish,” in fact), and if it’s been twenty years since the last time we felt like a child then maybe it’s because we’ve moved into that most mythical of all the childhood lands: the looming, factual world of the “adults.”  And that is exactly the most sensible, correct place we could hope to be.

Yet arguably the most widely respected, honored and beloved wise man of all time said to “become like children” to enter into the true kingdom: the one we can’t see but know to be there.  C.S. Lewis put it this way: “When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

Maybe it’s time we felt a dose of that childlike wonder again.

If you’re anything like me (which, if you’re still reading this, I’m inclined to think that maybe you are) then you’re seeking something.  You might not even know what it is, but you’re searching nonetheless.  I know I am.  However, I am profoundly confident in my seeking, because I believe that when we read “seek, and you will find”, it’s because we will.  There is something more here.  A bigger story, and one that we are a part of.  Let’s find it together.
