Q&A With The Copywriting Expert

Q: What types of copywriting do you specialize in?

A: I write all kinds of copy for all kinds of clients, but my greatest strengths are sales letters, website content, e-mail messages (auto-responders, e-zines, etc.), direct mail, and progressive internet marketing.

Q: What do you mean by “progressive internet marketing”?

A: There are other avenues for marketing out there other than just Pay-Per-Click and SEO to get you to the top of the search engines.  Finding these techniques and mastering them is a great joy for me (for more info see The Cutting Edge).

Q: What are your turnaround times for work?

A: That depends strictly upon the nature of the job, the size of the project, and my current workload.  Sometimes turnaround can be very speedy.  Sometimes it can take a little longer.  But rest assured, I will work inside the confines of your deadlines, and you will have quality, persuasive content ready to roll out when you need it.

Q: So you will meet deadlines?

A: I will meet deadlines.

Q: How many rewrites are included with your copywriting?

A: I will rewrite your copy as many times as is needed for you to be completely satisfied.  I do this for you free of charge because I believe you deserve the best, and I want to give you the best.

Q: What if major changes are necessary during the course of the project?

A: This is actually a multi-pronged question, which really depends on “who needs to make the change?”  For instance, if during the course of copywriting your needs change drastically and the scope or particulars of the project are altered, then we will need to discuss the project once more and come to a solution that works for both of us.  However, the original deadline might not be met in this case and the original quote might need to be adjusted.

Now, on the other hand, what if the project remains unaltered but you don’t like the direction the copy is going in?  In this case I consider this a rewrite, and as such you will not pay a dime for the extra time spent.  The original deadline will also be honored as much as is humanly possible.

Q: How much do you charge and what is your fee structure?

A: I charge a fixed fee for 95% of all copy projects.  What does this mean exactly?  Very simply, it means that you will not be nickel-and-dimed for every minute I spend on your project like you would be if I charged on an hourly basis.  As for my overall pricing structure, that is dependent on the project and your needs, and will be determined in a future quote after you and I have an in-depth discussion.

Q: How are you to work with?

A: Well, I really enjoy working with myself.  There is no one I work better with than me.  As such, I think I am a joy to work with.  And 96% of people who I have worked for or with have agreed.

Q: Ha ha.  Very funny.  So what does that actually mean?

A: It means that when I work on a project with you, you will find me to be professional, warm, courteous and prompt.  You will find my level of quality to be exceptional, both in communication and copy.  That's because I adhere to a strict code of excellence, an excellence that I will apply to your project.  I firmly believe you will not be disappointed.

Q: So you're really not going to tell us how much you charge, huh?

A: Nope.  I'm not.  However, I will say this.  I am not the cheapest copywriter out there (though I will say I am also not the most expensive).  So if you are looking for bargain basement copy, you might want to look elsewhere.  Though consider this: When you decide to use my services, you will be paying for exceptional value and the highest quality.  And you will get what you pay for.
